Cecil B. DeMille of Los Feliz, California, the house is ready for his close-up. The legendary director's former home is now on the market for $ 25 million. It was originally two separate residences, with DeMille bought one for $ 28,000 in 1916 and Charlie Chaplin living in the neighboring place. But after Chaplin moved in 1926, DeMille bought this house, too, and commissioned the architect Julia Morgan to design a conservatory to combine the two properties. Presented in the March 1987 issue of Architectural Digest, the estate is conveniently located on DeMille Drive and spans over two acres. After undergoing a six-year restoration, it now has six bedrooms, ten baths, and a new pool with arched fountains.
